The Search for Rainbow Dash

Miss K loves My Little Ponies she just LOVES them.  She takes them around everywhere so they are always getting lost, and left in the car and such. Pinky Pie was once gone for at least 4 months and I thought she must have been thrown out or left at church.   Rainbow Dash however is always right by her side and rarely out of her hands long enough to be misplaced.  Well one day little Rainbow Dash was gone,  I noticed right away because having missing pieces to a toy set drives me bonkos  so I searched the whole house trying to find that cute little toy.  Eventually I gave up and hopped K wouldn't notice before it turned up.
Rainbow Dash, the cool kids call her RD.
Later that day she came up to me SO sad and SO dramatic and says,  "Mom I can't find Rainbow Dash anywhere she is GONE!"  So,  I had her look all the places I had previously looked then we turned out the laundry and moved the bed other crazy places kids sometimes stick toys.  Finally said I told her I didn't think we would find Rainbow Dash anytime soon but she should turn up eventually.  K calmly and firmly said,  "Its okay Mom we can just pray and Heavenly Father will help us find her.  He helps us do all kinds of things."
K prays for the strength to make it though her soccer game.
At that moment I was a very proud mama but, if there is a spiritual gift of having God tell you where the stuff you lost is I do not have that gift.  I am ALWAYS losing things and I always pray to find them and while things usually  turn up after a few days and before any crisis happens I haven't been one to get an immediate LIGHTNING this is where your keys are, sort of thing.  So I explained that sometimes Heavenly Father did things in his own time and it might be a while before what we want happens but I knew we would find he pony eventually. K told me that was silly and that Heavenly Father would find Rainbow Dash for her today and I thought to my self what a good lesson this was going for my daughter to learn that God doesn't always do things when we want him to.  Later that day when we had cleaned her whole bedroom and most of the rest of the house looking for the little toy we took a break to read stories Kailey was on her bed playing and I sat at the  foot of her bed to read a story when I put my had down and right there on the ground was Rainbow Dash.  I still have no idea where she came from but there she was on the floor of that room that I had searched high and low with all my might.  I looked at that little pony and I knew that God had heard the prayer of my sweet girl. One day K will have to learn the hard lesson of God's timing and how things aren't going to just happen when we want them to just because we asked politely but first.  God gave K an assurance she can trust him, that he cares about what she cares about. He rewarded that pure faith of a child and reminded me that every time my faith is put to the test because things aren't going my way I also have those experiences to fall back on that have showed me that I am important to God and I can trust Him.
